Cam Newton Does A Town Stomp TD Dance (video)

Submitted by on Sunday, 30 September 2012No Comment

Cam Newton has been heavily criticized at times throughout his young career for going overboard on his touchdown celebrations. Last week in particular pulling off his Superman dance when the Panthers where trailing by 3+ TD’s to the Giants on their home field. Today he followed it up with A Town Stomp Dance after scoring against the Falcons. Below is a picture and video of what occurred, thanks to blacksportsonline.com for doing a great job finding the video:

I don’t give a shit if Netwon is trying to show off for his hip hop boys down in Atlanta who are known to pull off this dance. It’s pure stupidity. Stop acting like a clown. Go win a football game then celebrate. Last week was an absolute embarrassment getting pumped on your home field and feeling the need to celebrate like you did. One would think a mature individual would have learned from their mistakes; especially with public lashing he took.

You gain absolutely nothing expect a little bit of personal satisfaction. Which clearly does not outweigh the negatives which include the perception of you being selfish and most importantly possibly pissing off your opponents in Atlanta who don’t need any more motivation play hard against you.

Newton sill has tremendous athletic ability and has to be considered one of the great young talents at the QB position in the NFL. However, in order to be a great complete player and take his game to the next level it will require changing his mental attitude towards this game. Enough acting like a clown and celebrating until you have actually proven something in this league at very least a .500 season. Or how about celebrating like this if you actual win that particular game. Something that once again did not happen for Newton and the Panthers today as they lost in the final seconds 30-28 to Hotlanta.
