Krecji Knocked Over by Falling Glass Pane Following OT Victory Celebration

Submitted by on Thursday, 12 April 2012No Comment

The Boston Bruins were victorious in the first game of the 2012 NHL playoffs defending their Stanley Cup by beating the Washington Capitals 1-0 in off the stick of Chris Kelly 1:18 into the first overtime period.

While the overtime goal was pretty exciting what took behind the place was even more entertaining and unique. Check out a piece of glass pane fall out of the boards directly on David Krecji who was not expecting this at all.

Thankfully Krejci was alright after suffering no injury. It’s crazy how easily the glass fell over and onto the ice. Most of the time you would think in order for that to happen it would require some sort of drunk hooligan fan losing it putting a lot of force on the glass forcing it to get loose and dislodged. If you look at the video and pictures you can tell there was none of that, just a couple little taps, nothing out of the ordinary. Seems like more of an absolute fluke the glass must have been very loose and happened to fall off at the worst possible time.

Hopefully this is a wake up call to the staff working at the Boston Garden forcing them to take extra care of the boards ensuring they are fully wedged in so this problem does not arise again.
