LeBron Wears Championship Earned not Given T-Shirt
LeBron James is arguably the most scrutinized athlete in the world. The moment he made his “decision” to take his talents to South Beach teaming up with two of his good friends Wade and Bosh it produced one of the biggest debates in sports history. Not only for deciding to leave Cleveland but more for the way he handled it with the one hour television press conference, along with the team introduction in Miami acting like a bunch of clowns.
It didn’t stop there as the season progressed the hatred towards LeBron continued to grow with him acting very immature at times and rubbing many people the wrong way. Losing to the Mavericks in the finals gave everyone that did not like him an opportunity to cheer believing he “failed” and his grand master plan was blowing up infront of his face.
So this year when LeBron played out of his mind in the finals proving to the world he is undoubtedly the best player with the Heat winning the Championship it took a ton of pressure of his shoulders. To all the haters that have doubted LeBron he could give them all a big f**k you because his plan did work to win a Championship.
Now that he has won the big debate surrounding the Heat is whether or not they earned the title or it was given to them based on the way this team was created. Personally I don’t care, it’s here nor there, a championship is a championship you can spend hours breaking down every single one in the sports history and find reasons to bitch about it.
But, you would figure someone like LeBron who claims to have matured and does not get bothered by what the media and masses of the public think would make this a dead issue. Think not, check out the t-shirt he wore on set at ESPN the other day breaking down his journey to win the title:
Really LeBron?? I didn’t want to hate on him after all the success he had in the finals. But, this once again proves why there is such a strong dislike towards him. You don’t need to go around parading that it was earned and not given. From his perspective why does he even care? I have always stated from day one he is overly concerned about what other people think of him. This is why he had his special list created of all the people that have said bad things about him and would remember them.
I am not saying LeBron has not acted classy in winning the title, as a matter of fact he was. His post game speeches and the way he conducted himself on the court was fantastic. But, why do you have to go down this road? Why not just wear a normal shirt and not get caught up in the mix with this debate that I thought was something only used to fill time on talk radio shows? It’s almost like he still feels its necessary to justify his decision coming to play in Miami to society by wearing this.

wait just a second.. when kobe was out wearing his shirts with the 5 rings after he won nobody said anything.. but lebron cant wear a shirt that says he earned his title? did he not? my goodness…. As a columnist and being around the ignorant media you should know that merchandise is made to SELL. LeBron is a grown man and just like you can wear a shirt saying whatever you want, well so can he. He has been bashed about the same thing the past few years and it wasn’t just a walk in the park for this team and they understand that. This shirt is to silence the ignorant people who said he couldn’t, he wouldn’t, he didn’t have what it takes, he has no heart, he’s not clutch. Heres a perfect example that portrays what you live off to make MONEY. Your success depends on what you write and what the people want to hear and read about, NOT an article saying “Congrats LeBron.” Thus a shirt like this will sell much more than a shirt that says “My Plan Worked.”
You say you wish he wouldn’t care what people thought of him, which is exactly how he was acting. He wore the shirt because he doesn’t care whatsoever what people like you say about his decisions in their articles. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with him wearing that shirt, he earned it, just as the shirt says.
LeBron may or may hot have “earned” his championship; however,
he obviously felt he could not “earn” a championship in Cleveland so he made the “decision” to join two other stars and get a championship that way. Any championship for him was always going to be tainted, whether he likes it or not. Wearing his “earned not given” t-shirt isn’t going to convince anyone of anything (including himself). He should wear a t-shirt that he’s NBA champ and MVP. No one can take any of that away from him. But once again, LeBron can’t help himself….
Wow, the grammatical errors in your blog are simply appalling. At the very least, please learn the difference between “there” and “their”.
Alright RP, you’re really going to be that guy? Contribute to the blog
But seriously, he did earn his title. Lebron is not the only player seeking approval from society. He realizes he is a major part of society and many look to him as a role model. He’s silencing the bullshit around his name.
This article is ridiculously stupid. You celebrate an accomplishment you’re proud of. Why not wear that shirt? He has his own clothing line, let him wear shirts that people like me want to wear…where can I buy it!?
Yes of course go and celebrate it. Of course he deserved the title. My main point is why does he have to make a public statement about that. To me that indicates a bit of an insecurity wanting to get approval from society?
You all are missing the true message in that T-Shirt and who it’s for – The Dallas Mavericks!! He allowed them to win last year. Did you all see the final 2011 game? He allowed the other team to win so Mark Cuban wouldn’t be a two-time loser to the Miami Heat.
