Radio host’s EPIC rant about the state of ‘Canes football
If you ever wanted to hear what someone having an aneurism on the radio sounded like, this is about as close as you’re going to get without it actually happening.
Former Miami Hurricanes defensive lineman and current WQAM radio host Dan Sileo had a rant for the ages on his show Wednesday, completely tearing apart the ‘Canes uninspired play and generally talking like you’d expect from a player who played on the 1986 ‘Canes, also known as the most hated American sports team in history per Sports Illustrated.
For everyone that thinks that the U just used to be a bunch of thugs, listening to Sileo confirms it:
“Dude when you have a quarterback standing there when he does a quarterback sneak, do you know what I want someone to do? Pull a knife on ‘em, and stick ‘em! Gauge his eyes! Hit him in the knees! Kick him in the balls! Something! Show me you care!”
While I do think this is hilarious and awesome at the same time, I particularly love it because it is a great example of the emotion of a real football fan.
Sure, Sileo has a platform to be heard, but if you haven’t heard a fan go at least half as crazy like this about their team’s play, then you haven’t met a real fan. Tough love is real love.
If there are any young’ins in the room, I suggest you tell them to ear muffs. This isn’t something you want repeated at the family bbq.

Wow what an arrogant prick. Just face it the Canes suck. Just cuz they come from a school of history and prestige doesnt mean they will be good all the time.
