Wilpons have seen enough; Minaya & Manuel justifiably fired
The New York Mets just completed another atrocious underachieving season. Since the 2007 NLCS appearance it has been straight down hill. It was somewhat refreshing to see Wilpon step up and take the blame saying its his team and the lack of success should be his fault. Most definitely opening up the cheque book every year going on rampant free agent spending can be blamed on him.
Even if the strategy was to throw money at the situation and hope it improves the GM should be able to make some better decisions over the years. This ultimately was the biggest factor in Minaya being released with another two years remaining on his contract.
